Inspired by gum blossoms these earrings are definitely conversation starters.  I have blown the glass bead using recycled bottle glass and then etched the glass to give a matt finish reminiscent of beach glass.  I have finished the earrings with sterling silver.
 
Are they heavy?  No, because the I have blown the glass.  Each earrings weighs around  4.5 grams.
